We have something in common, Swedese and Märta Måås-
Fjetterström. Both companies have a wealth of design history to rely
on – and both companies look at the future. We have a tradition
of excellent quality and craftsmanship and our manufacturing takes
place in Sweden.
And then we have Claesson Koivisto Rune: the design and
architectural trio who have astounded both Sweden and the world.
They have designed pieces for both of us, which we are now
showing for the first time together. Furniture, rugs, design
– solitary pieces that create a new whole.

Swedese and Claesson Koivisto Rune have a close and intense collaboration. This started back
in 1998 and has resulted in furniture that has achieved great impact.
Yngve Ekström and his brother founded Swedese in 1945. During the last decade under Peter
Jiseborn's management, Swedese has created a collection of international calibre, composed
of innovative and intelligent furniture – designed by some of the world's most exciting designers.
Swedese has its own production units in Vaggeryd and in Äng in Småland. www.swedese.se

A few years ago Claesson Koivisto Rune were honoured to be asked to design three new rugs
for Märta Måås-Fjetterström. This collaboration has now resulted in a new colour composition
– the rölakan weave rug Broadband Oriental.
Inspired by Swedish nature, Scandinavian folk art-weaving and oriental rugs, Märta Måås-Fjetterström
left a unique collection of about 700 sketches when she passed away. Apart from managing this
cultural heritage, ever since 2002 MMF AB has produced "The textile of the year" in collaboration
with some of Swedens most interesting artists. The rugs are manufactured in Båstad in the southern-
most part of Sweden, at MMF's own textile studio.

Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune suprised the world while still completing their degree
project. And continue to do so. Claesson Kovisto Rune is one of Sweden's most renowned architect
and design practises – with a never-abating stream of projects that take leaps forward, focusing and
expanding boundaries. www.ckr.se
